Pitching for mom
Last week, the mother of Bellflower St. John Bosco pitcher Corey Painter died of a stroke at 44. The funeral for Laurie Painter was Friday. On Saturday, Painter took the mound against Long Beach Poly, and with the bases loaded and the tying run at the plate, he got a strikeout to preserve an 8-4 victory. He was pitching for mom. St John Bosco High School
Response to Students with Flu-Like Symptoms.
With the flu season rapidly approaching in addition to our state’s and nation’s need to stress the importance of exhibiting proper hygiene amongst its citizens, St. John Bosco High School has adopted several measures to minimize the spreading of germs among members of our community.
School’s Response
- Hand sanitizers are available in each classroom.
- Posters in each classroom are available which outline the steps to take to ensure a “Germ Free Zone”. These posters were made available through our state’s Health Department.
- Posted in each classroom are the steps that teachers are asked to follow to respond to students who exhibit flu like symptoms.
- School administration will notify parents, only when necessary, of reported cases of students diagnosed with the H1N1 virus. Names will remain confidential.
Parental Response
- Keeping your child at home if he is ill. Not allowing him to return to school until all symptoms have subsided. Urging your child to practice proper hygienic measures that will aid the school in preventing the spreading of any germs.
- Contact Mrs. Barnes if you are interested in donating sanitizing items for our classrooms for which you will receive service hour(s).
- On behalf of the entire SJB community, we would like to extend our appreciation for your efforts in assisting us in minimizing the spreading of the flu.
Thank you and God bless,
Mr. Linares
