JASON NEGRO NAMED ST. JOHN BOSCO HEAD FOOTBALL COACH

St. John Bosco High School has named Jason Negro, a 1991 graduate of SJB, as the school’s new football coach.

The energetic and outgoing Negro returns to St. John Bosco High School after a successful seven year run at Trabuco Hills High School, where he guided his team to the finals in 2007 and 2009. During the past four years, Negro compiled a record of 40-14, including an 18-2 record in league and 10-4 in the play-offs.

“Coming back home to St. John Bosco High School is a tremendous opportunity for me and my family. I am thoroughly excited to get started as soon as possible,” says Negro.

Coach Negro and his wife Carrie and their two children Rylie (6) and Reece (3), currently reside in Fountain Valley and are members of St. Simon and Jude Catholic Parish in Huntington Beach, where their oldest daughter Rylie attends school.

“We are excited to have Jason as our next football coach,” Principal Pat Lee says, “Jason is a terrific person, teacher and coach. His personality and work ethic will inspire and motivate our students, alumni, and supporters. We know that Jason is the right person to lead our school to the success that our community wants and deserves.”

Negro has strong ties to the Bosco community coaching varsity defensive backs and as a defensive coordinator for the Braves for three years starting back in 1998. He brings a fast-paced, no huddle offensive attack as well as an aggressive and physical defensive style.

While attending Bosco, Negro was a two sport star, lettering in both football and baseball, and earning all-league honors. Born and raised in Bellflower, Negro has two younger brothers Josh and Jake who also attended Bosco, and parents Mike and Anna who were also very active in the community.

A graduate of Cal State Dominguez Hills, Negro hold a BS Degree in Mathematics and a Professional Clear Teaching Credential in Mathematics.
