September 17, 2017 Principal's Bulletin Dear Parents, Reflections on Our Week Archbishop Gomez Celebrates First School Wide Mass to Conclude Triduum We were blessed with the presence of the Archbishop of Los Angeles, Jose Gomez last Friday. As the leader of the five million professed Catholics in Los Angeles County, Archbishop Gomez addressed the Bosco family with humility, and encouraged our students to rethink about how they could be intentional about their faith. He shared about how when he first obtained his driver's license, his father only allowed him to use the car if he was going to drive to mass. This gesture reminds us all of our influence as parents, faculty, staff, coaches, and ultimately shepherds on our sons. It's powerful to see how the Archbishop's father's rule made such a long lasting impression on him. This mass culminated our Triduum week celebration and united our school community in prayer. Thank you to all parents who volunteered to give Archbishop Gomez a warm Bosco family welcome. Is that a Bosco visor on the Archbishop? Men of Faith, Leadership, Integrity and Citizenship Braves participated in the Habitat for Humanity interfaith day of service last weekend. The day of service not only allowed for a needy family to move one step closer to owning a home, it supported the idea that all men of faith have a duty to serve those in need. It is through service to our fellow beings that we gain an understanding of the Lord. Students Using Uber Part 2 Last week, the bulletin spread awareness about the pros and cons of using Uber. At last Monday's PA meeting, a few parents mentioned a service that is safer and geared towards minors. This service, HopSkipDrive allows for parents to have a bit more relief from the dangers of using Uber or Lyft. Check it out!
