Greetings Braves,
This week is National Catholic Schools Week, a week dedicated to celebrating the benefits of a Catholic education. This year's theme is "Catholic Schools: Communities of Faith, Knowledge, and Service."
The National Catholic Education Association (NCEA) offers this insight into the health and value of a Catholic education: Catholic schools offer academic excellence and faith-filled education for students nationwide. National test scores, high school graduation rates, college attendance and other data show that Catholic schools frequently
outperform schools in both the public and private sectors. While some Catholic schools are challenged by declining enrollments and school closures, the good news is that there is a strong demand and enthusiasm for Catholic schools. Thirty percent of Catholic schools have waiting lists for admission and new schools are opening across the country.
Recognizing that you have many options on where to send your son to school, we appreciate your decision to send your son to St. John Bosco High School.
Parent Association Meeting on Possible Bell Schedule Modification for 2017-2018
Come join the SJB Administration on Monday, February 13 at 6:30 p.m. in the MPR to hear about how SJB is investigating a new bell schedule. Could a new daily schedule, the University Block Schedule, that has shown to provide a lower stress learning environment and bolster student achievement be right for SJB? We invite all parents to hear and give your input!
Feast Day of St. John Bosco
This week as a community we celebrated the Feast Day of our Patron saint, Don Bosco. We celebrate the many gifts that Don Bosco and the Salesians have brought to our community. We remember the gifts of the oratory and the preventive system of reason, religion, and loving kindness.
