#backtobosco reopening plan
Three Instructional Options: On-Campus, Hybrid and Online
We are excited to announce our preliminary plan regarding our return to ON CAMPUS* student learning at St. John Bosco High School for the 2020-2021 school year. Our projected first day of on-campus learning is Tuesday, January 19. 2021.
Based on current guidelines from the California Department of Public Health and the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) we will return to campus under the implementation of practical proactive measures. The most significant are as follows:
- Physical distancing throughout campus
- Daily wellness screening
- Limited student cohorts
- Enhancement of campus and community sanitation practices
St. John Bosco's 36-acre campus can accommodate these changes. Our faculty, staff, and the entire student body will practice social distancing with more than 50 designated learning spaces, including 45 classrooms, the Multipurpose Room, the Learning Commons, the Theater, athletic facilities, plus plenty of outdoor space. We are also excited to debut changes to our academic program, which will facilitate learning in smaller student groups.
Thank you for your trust and support. Please e-mail Adan Jaramillo '04, Health Management Coordinator, at health@bosco.org for more information. We are so excited to safely welcome students back to campus!
*25% of our student population will be on-campus each day beginning Tuesday, January 19, 2021.
Campus and Community Sanitization Practices
As we take necessary steps to allow in-person instruction we have recently purchased three additional air and surface purification products that will maximize our safety on campus, in addition to the Bipolar Ionization HVAC system.
These products include:
- Pathogen Shields
- Micro-Barrier Products
- Green Drains
