Sports Medicine Pathway
The Sports Medicine pathway specializes in the knowledge, skills, practices, and theories encompassed in the health and safety of athletic individuals. Students will understand the various careers of healthcare professionals, including the team physician, athletic trainer, physical therapist, biomedical engineer, nutritionist and psychologist. This pathway is designed for students interested in fields such as athletic training, physical therapy, medicine, fitness, physiology of exercise, kinesiology, nutrition, and other sports medicine-related fields. Coursework content will include anatomy, physiology, kinesiology, hygiene, nutrition, taping, bracing, emergency procedure, conditioning, injury prevention, injury evaluation, rehabilitation, therapy, and field work observations.
