Academic Decathlon

At Bosco, Academic Decathlon is more than just competition — it’s a journey of discovery, friendship, and personal growth.

St. John Bosco High School’s Academic Decathlon Team provides students with an opportunity to engage in rigorous academic competition while developing critical thinking, teamwork, and communication skills. Competing in various events locally and abroad in The World Scholar's Cup program, our team is challenged across a range of subjects — from literature and science to social studies and the arts. The World Scholar’s Cup offers an exciting, global platform where students debate, write, and collaborate with peers from around the world, immersing themselves in diverse topics and cultures. At Bosco, Academic Decathlon is more than just competition — it’s a journey of discovery, friendship, and personal growth.

The Latest

This past July, students from St. John Bosco High School traveled to the bustling city of Seoul in South Korea. These travels were the most recent in a list of journeys Bosco students have taken as a part of the World Scholar’s Cup program.

Bosco scholars returned home with 60 gold medals, 48 silver medals, and 7 trophies. They came back with a deeper understanding of the world and of one another. Their experience embodies what it means to be a Brave: seeking knowledge, building brotherhood, and representing Bosco with pride wherever they go.

Next up, the team will travel to New Haven, Connecticut, to compete in the World Scholar’s Cup Tournament of Champions at Yale University!
