The 2018-19 St. John Bosco Basketball team will be led by seven seniors who have all had major rolls for the Braves over the past three seasons. All-CIF 1st team Performer Chris James returns to lead the Braves in the backcourt. He will be joined by fellow All-Trinity League Performers Jonathan Salazar and Josh Adoh to form one of the best trios in Southern California. Fernando Gomez, Jalen Manson, Nick Ainsworth and Gabe Campos all return for their senior years after being major contributors not only last year, but the previous two as well.

The 2017-18 season was highlighted by seven wins against teams that would go on to compete in the prestigious Southern Section Open Division Tournament. The Braves went 2-1 in the Open Division with wins over Crespi (led by future Arizona Wildcat Brandon Williams) and Rancho Christian (led by National Top 20 players Isaiah and Evan Mobley). Other season highlights were the Braves' first win over Trinity League Power Mater Dei, followed by a win the same week against State Top 10 Santa Margarita. Regional wins over local power Long Beach Poly and Rancho Christian, for a third time, allowed the Braves to advance to the Final.

Coach Matt Dunn returns for his fourth season leading the Braves. He has led the Braves to a 64-30 record in his first three years, including a CIF Semifinal Appearance in 2016 and an Open Division Consolation Championship in 2018. This year's team hopes to build upon the foundation of the past, and provide another exciting season for all Braves fans.
