Monday, 3/26:

Varsity: Herald Invitational at Candlewood C.C. 2nd out of 12 teams

In this tournament team play consisted of 4 players on a team and all four scores would count. Ivan, Nick, Marcus and Will comprised our team and Michael, Daniel, and Christian played as alternates. Our team score of 322 put us in 2nd place. Ivan finished tied for 9th as an individual. Candlewood Country Club is a very tight, difficult, par 70 golf course.

Aguilar-76, Bernal-85, Cabot-83, De Jesus-102, Kennedy-78, Kim-105, Munoz-94

JV 2: vs. Poly at Los Amigos Poly – 264 SJB – 296

Our inexperienced team struggled in this match. Javi was our low scorer in a match for the 1st time this season and Gilbert was 2nd by himself for the 1st time as well. Unfortunately we had to play short one player and that hurt us as well. Cristian and Gilbert both had their low rounds of the season to this point in this match.

Capitan-55, Cuevas-68, Kunkel-64, Lin-63, Lopez-58, Salas-56

Tuesday, 3/27:

Varsity: vs. Mater Dei at Los Amigos Mater Dei – 175 SJB – 204

The Monarchs shot 5 under par as a team and we could not match that, especially with one of our players unable to play. We did shoot our best round of the season at Los Amigos though, but we know we can do better. Nick led the way for the 1st time this season and Christian and Michael playing together each had their best score of the season. Thank you to James for filling in at the last minute.

Aguilar-40, Bernal-38, Cabot-44, De Jesus-41, Marshall—48, Munoz-41

JV 1: vs. Mater Dei at Willowick Mater Dei – 197 SJB – 241

Again Mater Dei shot a very good JV score at par 35 Willowick. This is not the most difficult course but it is new for us so we had a bit of difficulty. Daniel led us in scoring for the first time this season and Trevor had his 2nd best score of the season. Thanks to Hector for helping out with very little notice but he was unable to finish due to an injured shoulder.

Ebalo-51, Liu-45, Medina-50, Moreno-48, Ruiz-61, Sandstrom-47

JV 2: vs. Cerritos at Ironwood Cerritos – 191 SJB – 209

Ironwood is an executive course with a par of 29 and we felt more comfortable at a course like this. Valley had our best score and Preston had his best round of the season to be 2nd. Cristian, Emilio, and Dante all had their best scores of the season in relation to par as well.

Capitan-47, Kunkel-55, Lin-37, Lopez-42, Park-38, Sierra-55, Terramani-46

Wednesday, 3/28:

Varsity: vs. Mayfair at Lakewood Mayfair – 488 SJB – 444

A win is always nice but we know we did not play our best at par 72 Lakewood. We needed a team score of 420 to get a qualifying score and clearly we were not up to the task. Will led the way at 11 over as we headed into the Easter break

Aguilar-88, Bernal-93, Cabot-86, De Jesus-96, Kennedy-83, Kim-94, Munoz-99

JV 1: vs. Cerritos at Los Amigos Cerritos – 242 SJB – 220

Coach Towle says this was our best JV match in 3 years with all our players scoring in the 40s. James and Zach led the way with their best scores of the season. Tommy also had his best round of the season and Emmanuel and Barcey had their 2nd best. WAY TO GO JV!!

Barcenas--47, Fierro-45, Liu-47, Marshall-42, Medina-44, Sandstrom-42
