Principal's Bulletin

Dear Bosco Family,

This week we celebrate St. John Bosco, the founder of one of the largest religious orders in the Catholic church. Over 14,000 Salesians of Don Bosco serve all over the world. 10,103 priests, 1,658 brothers, 2,584 seminarians, and 432 novices operate Salesian works across 132 countries in 88 provinces with 1,892 locations. In addition to the Salesians of Don Bosco, there are additional branches of the Salesian Family such as the Association of Salesian Cooperators, Daughters of Mary Help of Christians, and Association of Devotees of Mary Help of Christians. St. John Bosco High School is one the most significant works in the Western Province. Click here to learn about the great life of our founder. Click here to view weekly updates from our provincial. This Thursday we will celebrate Don Bosco's feast day with a special mass.

Pupil Free Day - February 4, 2019

Next Monday, our faculty and staff will be joining together with several other Catholic schools in the area for a day of formation.  Our theme this year will be "Faith Across the Curriculum," led by Bishop Robert Barron, followed by smaller breakout sessions.  There will be no classes in session.

Visual Arts

Thank you to all who came out to celebrate the amazing art our students created this past Sunday at Our Lady of the Angels Cathedral.  Their artwork will be on display with about 100 other works for the next six weeks. You will not regret taking a trip to downtown Los Angeles to experience this amazing exhibit!

Academic Decathlon Storms the Competition

After just one year, our academic decathletes are making history.  Not only did we grow in numbers, we grew in competitiveness. It is typical for 2nd year teams to move up one division after a winning their division.  However, this year, for the first time in the competition's history, St. John Bosco was moved up TWO divisions. We are now competing in Division 2 for the title.  We need everyone to come support the team this Saturday at 3:00pm for the Super Quiz.  The Super Quiz is the culminating event that is open to the public in the gymnasium at Bishop Alemany High School.  It gets intense! Hope to see you there!
