Christian Service Program

At St. John Bosco High School we believe that as a Salesian Catholic high school we are called to follow Jesus Christ’s call to serve. We seek to emulate the love and compassion of Jesus who came to serve and not to be served.

The Christian Service Program provides all students opportunities to be of service individually and as a school community.

Outcomes:

  • Service makes us faith-filled, compassionate and more Christ-like, that is, to serve others and not always wanting to be served.
  • Service gives us a concrete way to imitate Jesus who serves willingly, unselfishly, and lovingly, even when sacrifice is required.
  • Service makes use of our unique gifts, values, insights, dreams for the good of others.
  • Service addresses the needs of others, especially those who are less fortunate than us.
  • Service challenges us to become better, that is, to actualize our potentials as human beings.
  • Service opens us to insights of a possible life vocation or career.

If one is to do good, he must have a little courage, be ready for sacrifice, deal affably with all and never slight anybody. By following this method I have always had significant success, in fact, marvelous success. -Don Bosco
