The official campus visit, main application ($50 non-refundable fee), recommendations from the applicant's current principal, English teacher and math teacher, a personal recommendation, school transcript, interview and High School Placement test results. The steps and deadlines involved in our application process are outlined in the admission packet and on this website, but your child will need your assistance and guidance along the way. Our admission counselors also are available to assist throughout the process.

Based on the teachings of St. John Bosco, founder of the Salesian order, St. John Bosco focuses on the importance of educating the whole person: mind, body and spirit. We provide a caring, nurturing environment where students are encouraged to develop their skills and talents while completing a rigorous, college preparatory course of studies.

Our faculty are a highly trained and certificated community. A majority of the faculty have earned advanced degrees; all teach within their specific disciplines. They continually challenge and encourage students academically while providing a nurturing atmosphere in which to grow.

The graduates of St. John Bosco High School are compassionate, well-educated men of character and service in the spirit of our founder and saint. Our young men embrace learning in a diverse and competitive environment. Ninety-eight percent of our students over the last 10 years have entered institutions of higher learning.

St. John Bosco High School is fully accredited through 2021 by the Western Association of Schools and Colleges.

Advanced Placement courses are offered in Art History, Music Theory, Chemistry, Biology, U.S. History, World History, American Government and Politics, Comparative Government and Politics, Human Geography, Statistics, Calculus AB, Calculus BC, Spanish Language, Spanish Literature, English Literature, English Language, French Language and Culture, Chinese Language, Japanese Language and Physics.

The athletic program offers 15 sports and 42 athletic teams. It includes Cross Country, Football, Lacrosse, Water Polo, Basketball, Wrestling, Soccer, Golf, Tennis, Track & Field, Baseball, Swimming and Volleyball at the interscholastic level and a Rugby and Hockey club. We are a member of the Trinity League.

St. John Bosco High School provides a variety of activities which complement a student's scholastic work and help him to develop and express his talents and interests. Students may join a full range of clubs and organizations in the areas of community service, youth ministry, drama, rocketry, fitness, paintball, the arts and honor societies, to name a few.

Students may apply to St. John Bosco High School in the fall and winter of their 8th grade year. Students will need to complete the online application, including an essay about why they wish to attend St. John Bosco High School. Recommendations from the applicants current principal, math teacher, English teacher and school transcripts are required. Students must take the High School Placement Test (HSPT) which is offered in January. Early Commitment application documents must be submitted to school by October 31, 2017. All traditional application documents must be submitted to the school by January 31, 2018. The application fee is $50 which includes the cost for the High School Placement Exam.

After a complete review of a student's sixth through eighth grade course work, recommendations from his school and his placement exam results, the counseling staff will assign a freshman curriculum that will both challenge and nurture the student academically.

Yes, the school is open to students of all religious denominations and faiths. However, because St. John Bosco is a Catholic school, students take four years of religion courses (graduation requirements) and will be actively involved in a prayerful religious community.

Both academic and personal counseling are available to students every day.

Regular school days run from 8 a.m. to 2:40 p.m. The year begins in mid-August and ends by the last week of May.

Yes, students can purchase food before school, at break, and at lunch from several venues.

Yes, we have the opportunity for families to get involved in daily school life. Fifteen service hours are required from each family per student.
