Counseling and Guidance
At St. John Bosco we're committed to the educational and personal well-being of each student.
The mission of St. John Bosco High School's Counseling Department is to support and enhance the academic, college/career, and social/emotional development of each student. All students are assigned a school counselor who will work with them on issues including the transition into high school, personal/social growth, problem solving skills, crisis management, curriculum development, and post-secondary planning.
Counseling
School counselors work in conjunction with the professional learning community collaborating to assist students towards a successful high school experience.
The Counseling Department views parents as partners in education and welcomes parent involvement throughout their son’s high school experience. You can find your student's assigned counselor listed on PowerSchool
Counseling & Guidance
College Counseling
As students go through their high school experience, we take great care in guiding them and their families through their personal college search process to help them find the right fit. We believe the search process should be primarily focused on discovering colleges/universities that offer students an education and experience that will enable them to pursue their future aspirations.
Counselors work collaboratively with families to discern their goals and financial needs, and to define their expectations. Through this collaborative partnership, a well-balanced list will be developed. After admission decisions are received, counselors will support students throughout the final college decision-making process.
