In-Person Summer Program

Prep Course Schedule

Prep Courses can be taken during session 1 or session 2. You will also be able to choose between two periods: 8am-10am or 10:30am-12:30pm.

• Session 1 - June 24 through July 3
• Session 2 - July 8 through July 17

Advancement Course Schedule

Advancement Courses are 2 semesters in length. You may only select one course. Class times are 8am-1:30pm (with a break from 10:30am-11am). 

• Semester 1 - June 17 through July 2 (No school June 19)
• Semester 2 - July 3 through July 19 (No school July 4-5)

Prep Course Offerings

Note: Credit will not be given for prep courses.

• Algebra Prep 
• Composition/World Literature Prep 
• University Prep - An elective course that offers ninth graders some important keys to high school success. This course will offer students instruction in organizational strategies, goal setting and time management techniques. It will introduce freshmen to the high school experience focusing on traditions, activities, and services available. Students will work on high school planning, and explore post-secondary career options. Students will have one-on-one conference time with the teacher throughout the semester and opportunities to engage in scholarship.

Advancement Course Offerings

• Algebra 1 (Prerequisite: 60 or better on Math Stanine)
• Geometry (Prerequisite: 70 or better on Math Stanine & C or better in Algebra I)
• Spanish 1 (Prerequisite: 40 or better on Composite Stanine)

• Semester 1: June 17 through July 2
• Semester 2: July 3 through July 19
• Holidays: June 19, July 4, July 5

Please note that AP Chemistry is being offered to Bosco students from June 10 through June 20 (no school June 19) and the cost is $215. 

Course Offerings

Students may remediate semester 1 and/or semester 2 of any course. If a student needs to remediate semester 1 of a course, he or she must register to take that course during summer semester 1 (June 17-July 2). If a student needs to remediate semester 2 of a course, he or she must register to take that course during summer semester 2 (July 3-July 19). If a student needs to remediate both semesters of a course, he or she must register for both summer semesters.

• AP Chemistry - This course is being offered to Bosco students only.

• Chemistry

Note: Biology and Chemistry are only offered for remediation, not advancement.

Social sTUDIES

• Modern World History
• US History

Note: All history courses are only offered for remediation, not advancement.

WORLD LANGUAGES

• Spanish 1 
• Spanish 2 
• Spanish 3 

Note: All world language courses are offered for remediation, and are allowed for advancement only in certain cases, with counselor permission. Please speak with your counselor before registering.

• 9th Grade Prep Courses for Incoming Bosco Students: $175
• AP Chemistry: $215
• All Other Courses: $400 for 1 semester (5 credits); $775 for 2 semesters (10 credits)

Do all summer school courses follow the same grading policy? 

Grading methods will vary for each summer school course. Students should expect to receive credit based on attendance, assignments submitted, and assessments.

Schedules and Procedures

• Summer School Schedules are distributed before school on the first day of class. Confirmation of registration is available upon request at the email address provided.
• No credit will be given if a student is absent from a class for more than one (1) day.
  • Please plan vacations and club sports activities around, not during, summer school.
• Any student dismissed from summer school for disciplinary reasons will forfeit tuition and credit.

What is the Tuition and Refund Policy?

• Prior to the first week before school: Full refund less $50 processing fee (excluding 3% service charge if paid by credit/debit card).
• One week prior to the first day of school: 50% refund (excluding 3% service charge if paid by credit/debit card).
• First day of school or later: NO REFUND
