Frequently Asked Questions

What is the Annual Fundraiser?
St. John Bosco's Annual Fundraiser is our school’s only required fundraiser for current families. The school relies on the proceeds of this major fundraiser as part of the operating budget. With parental support, we expect 100% of the families to meet 100% of their quota. The success of this fundraiser is linked to the participation of both parents and students. We encourage families to reach out to aunts, uncles, cousins, grandparents and other family members and friends to help them reach their quota.

If I choose Plan 1 (tax-deductible donation), will I receive any tickets for the prize drawing?
No, you will not receive any tickets for the drawing. By law, a donor who makes a tax-deductible donation to a non-profit organization may not receive any goods or services in exchange for their gift.

If I choose Plan 2 (lump sum payment), when will I receive my tickets?
All tickets (hard copy and electronic) will be available at Back to School Night on August 30. You are welcome to buy the tickets yourself or sell tickets to family and/or friends.

Can I change my Payment Plan?
No, plans are not able to be changed. If you decide you no longer want to sell your tickets, at your discretion you can submit your contribution using the online payment or electronic ticket sales form. We will not be able to enter your remaining balance on to your SchoolAdmin Account.

I am planning to sell electronic tickets. Do I still need to pay in advance?
Yes, all tickets must be paid for in advance.  We will credit your sales back to your SchoolAdmin by December 1, 2022 after the Annual Fundraiser has closed.

If I sell electronic tickets, how will ticket stubs be submitted?
St. John Bosco will be responsible for submitting ticket stubs for all electronic entries.

How will I know electronic ticket stubs have been submitted?
Families are welcome to email annualfundraiser@bosco.org  to verify electronic entries have been submitted.

Can I use a company matching gift to complete my family's quota?
Yes. You can have your company match any amount you wish to complete your quota. Contact your company's Human Resource Department.

I am planning to sell the tickets. When will I receive them?
If you are planning to sell your tickets to family and/or friends, all tickets will be available at Back to School Night on August 30.

What if I lose my tickets?
Treat paper tickets as cash, lost tickets will not be replaced unless repurchased.

I am paying in advance of receiving the tickets (Plan 2 or Plan 3), but I am planning to sell the tickets. What do I do with money I collect for tickets sold?
If you are choosing to sell the tickets and are paying in advance, you would recoup the money collected from the buyers. (For example, if you paid $250 in advance and sold the tickets to friends or family members, you would keep the money collected from the sale of those tickets).

When are ticket stubs due back for the drawing?
All ticket stubs are due back no later than 3:00 p.m. November 17 for the drawing on November 18.

When can I begin turning in ticket stubs for the drawing?
Beginning August 30 to 3:00 p.m. November 17. On August 30, a box will be in the front office for ticket drop-off. You can return the tickets yourself or have your son drop them in the box in the Main Office during regular business hours, usually Monday-Friday 7:30am-3:30pm.

How do I get bonus tickets?
After reaching your quota you can purchase or pick up additional tickets from Diane Whitten in the Main Office during regular business hours. Additional tickets are only available in bundles of 10.

What if I don’t sell all of my bonus tickets?
Unsold tickets must be purchased or returned to the front office by 3:00 p.m. November 17.

How can I earn service hours?
After you have reached your quota, every (2) two tickets sold will equal (1) one hour of service.

  • Every (2) tickets sold over your quota will count for one hour of service:
    • 2 tickets = 1 hour
    • 4 tickets = 2 hours
    • 5 tickets = 2 hours
    • 6 tickets = 3 hours
    • 8 tickets = 4 hours
    • 10 tickets = 5 hours
