There is no required skill level to join cross country — only a willingness to work hard, stay committed, and give your best every day. The expectation for every athlete is the same: to remember they represent more than just themselves, both inside and outside the classroom.
Cross country at Bosco is about more than running. It’s about discipline, perseverance, and the bonds formed through shared miles and challenges. Our athletes train to push past limits, support one another through every stride, and celebrate victories — big and small — together.

Head Coach Tim McIntosh '79
Varsity Cross Country and Track and Field Coach Tim McIntosh, "Coach Mac," is a St. John Bosco High School alumnus, Class of 1979. As a student here, he participated in football, cross country and track. He went on to Cal State Dominguez Hills, where he earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Business and Marketing, and to Concordia University, where he earned a Master's Degree in Administration and Coaching.
Coach Mac has been coaching and teaching at Bosco for decades. He has one of the top cross country programs in the state having won 3 state championships (2003, 2010, 2012) and holding a remarkable Southern Section record of 21 straight league titles. The Press Telegram has named him their "Dream Team Coach of the Year" 5 times.
