Chris King
Defensive Coordinator
Chris King is entering his thirteenth year as the defensive coordinator and linebackers coach at St. John Bosco High School. Coach King has been coaching high school football for 30 years. Coach King is an Esperanza High School graduate and is the sole owner of a real estate appraisal company located in Orange County.
In the offseason, Coach King speaks at coaching conventions across the nation and has been a guest coach at numerous universities. During the offseason, he travels the country to learn from different football programs, such as Alabama, Clemson, Georgia and Oregon. Chris King has coached on six CIF championship teams over his 30 year coaching career. Coach King resides in San Dimas and is supported by his long time girlfriend, Jenn.
Steven Lo
Offensive Coordinator
Steven Lo is entering his fifth year as offensive coordinator and quarterbacks coach at St. John Bosco High School. Coach Lo earned a BA and MA degree in Kinesiology from San José State University where he also served as a graduate assistant strength and conditioning coach for two years. This is Coach Lo’s 20th year coaching football at the varsity level.
A graduate of Gilroy High School, where he played football and was a member of its wrestling team, Coach Lo spent eight years coaching football at his alma mater. For five seasons prior to joining the Bosco staff, Coach Lo served as offensive coordinator and assistant head coach at Junípero Serra High School in San Mateo helping the team capture the first CIF state title in school history, back to back Northern California regional titles, three section titles, and four league titles. Coach Lo also serves as the head strength and conditioning coach for the Braves. He resides in Lakewood, loves to travel and has been happily married for 8 years to his amazing wife Christina. Coach Lo is the proud father of two year old Austin and a proud National Champion!
Paul Diaz '84
Defensive Line
Paul Diaz is in his 25th year coaching varsity football for St. John Bosco High School. Paul is a 1984 Bosco graduate. After graduation, Coach Diaz received his Bachelor of Science degree in Kinesiology from California State University, Fullerton with an emphasis in Sports Psychology.
Coach Diaz is a former teacher in the science department and is the current plant manager for SJB. He was a long time shot put coach where he saw his athletes also excel at the college level. Coach Diaz and his wife Sandra are parents to daughter Danielle, a graduate from Cal Poly Pomona, and to ten year old Makena. Paul is a 3- time CIF and 2-time National Champion!
Kyle Trudell
Safeties
Coach Kyle Trudell is in his 4th year at Bosco coaching the Defensive Backs with Coach King and Coach Hall. He works closely with Coach Adams and Coach Lo in our Strength and Conditioning program. He attended Cal Poly Pomona where he earned his degree in History and received his Masters in Education from the National University. Coach Trudell played football for 8 years, 4 of those years in High School where he graduated in 2001 from Brea Olinda. Currently, he teaches Biology at California High School in Whittier. Coach Trudell loves camping, fishing, and anything with his family. He is married to Kristen and has 3 children: Everett (11), Emma (9), and Wyatt (6).
James Adams
Offensive Line
Jim is a 1997 graduate of El Toro High School, where he was an All-County offensive Lineman for the Chargers. After graduation, Coach Adams attended the University of Oregon on a full athletic scholarship where he started four years for the Ducks. Coach Adams is beginning his 20th year of coaching and his thirteenth with the Braves. He brings an extensive amount of experience to the Bosco football program, which includes a CIF Championship as a player, two Offensive Lineman of the Year awards while at Oregon, an Honorable Mention in the Pac-10 and participated in three National Bowl games (Sun, Holiday and BCS Fiesta Bowl). In addition to his coaching duties, Coach Adams is a teacher at SJB, heads up the strength and conditioning program with Coach Lo and runs the Early Edge program for the Braves.
Jon Hall
Corner Backs/Safety
Entering his eleventh year with Bosco as a Defensive Backs coach, Jonathan brings 25 years of coaching experience with him and was a member of the 2008 coaching staff for the CIF Runner-ups, Tesoro HS. He is a ‘93 graduate of Fountain Valley High School where he was a two year Varsity letterman. Jonathan played college football at Golden West JC and earned his B.A. Degree in History from National University. Jonathan’s coaching philosophy is simple, to use football as a tool to bring out the best in young men, to be better players and people. Along with his coaching duties, Coach Hall is the Athletic Coordinator within the Athletics Department and the staff liaison for collegiate recruiting, helping our players get to the next level. Jonathan is married to his beautiful wife, Julie, and resides in Huntington Beach.
Nate Munson
Tight Ends
Nate Munson is a 2002 graduate of Wheaton Warrenville South High School in Illinois. With seventeen years of coaching experience, and a philosophy to “never give up,” he once again joins the SJB staff in coaching the tight ends at the varsity level. Nate is a 2006 graduate of Azusa Pacific University where he played wide receiver for four years. Coming to California did not take away his passion for his Chicago Bears, Bulls, and Blackhawks! He is currently a history teacher at SJB. Coach Munson is also the head JV football coach and coaches track. He most recently coached Camryn O'Bannon to a State Title in the Triple Jump in 2022. Nate has been married to his wife Anita for 14 years, has a daughter Maren, and resides in Huntington Beach.
Jake Negro '97
Special Teams
Jake graduated from SJB in 1997 where he played varsity football and baseball for four years. Coach Negro was an All-CIF Linebacker for the Braves during his senior season as he helped lead the Braves to the CIF Quarterfinal round of the playoffs. After graduating from Bosco, Coach Negro played two seasons at Saddleback College. Coach Negro holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Liberal Studies from California State University, Dominguez Hills.
Coach Negro has also coached at Trabuco Hills High School and helped lead the Mustangs to the CIF Southwest Division Championship Game against La Mirada at Anaheim Stadium in 2009. Coach Negro works with the Special Teams unit at the Varsity Level. In addition to his coaching duties, he teaches Algebra and Geometry at Bosco. Coach Negro is married to Roni and they reside in Lakewood.
Mia Tui
Defensive Line
Mia Tui is a graduate from Long Beach Poly HS and will be coaching the defensive line at the varsity level. As a prep player, Mia was selected 2nd Team All-Mission League and went on to play at Long Beach City College. He has – enjoyed coaching football for the last 23 years, also spending time at Cerritos College. Currently living in Long Beach, Mia is married to his beautiful wife of 28 years, Ulu, and they have two girls, Kawehi, age 28 and Keala, age 22.
Rob Fuiava
Linebackers
Rob Fuiava is a graduate of Compton High and comes to Bosco with 19 years of coaching experience. This is Rob’s ninth season with the Braves and he coaches the linebackers at the varsity level. Rob earned his degree at the University of LaVerne, holds his realtors license and works full time in the industry. Rob is married to Joanne, has 5 children, and lives in the city of Cerritos.
Fredy Arteaga
Offensive Line
Coach Arteaga graduated from La Puente HS in 1996, where he lettered in 3 years. He was named first-team All-CIF Southern Section his senior year and was selected to play in the 1996 California-Hawaii All-Start game. Upon graduating, he enlisted in the military where he served for 9 years. As a Navy Corpsman, he completed two combat tours in Iraq with the US Marines. While in the military, he continued his football playing career in the Armed Forces Football League (AFFL) for 4 years from 1998-2002 as a defensive end. Coach Arteaga currently holds a BA in Sports Management and is working on his Masters in Sports Law. He has been an offensive line coach in the Trinity League for over 9 years. Coach Arteaga and his wife Desiree have three children, Janai, Noah and Jaxson.
