Record Book

2022 CIF, State, National Champions

The 2022 St. John Bosco football season was another one for the history books! The Braves took two out-of-state trips, opening the season against the Allen Eagles of Dallas, TX. The resounding 52-14 victory launched the Braves into the gauntlet of difficult contests ahead. A trip to Autzen Stadium at the University of Oregon also highlighted the non-league schedule as the Braves defeated Central Catholic from Portland, OR. The Braves once again advanced to the CIF-SS Division 1 Championship which was played at the iconic Rose Bowl Stadium in Pasadena, CA as part of the Rose Bowl's 100th Anniversary celebration. The Braves defeated national powerhouse Mater Dei by a score of 24-22 and two weeks later defeated Serra of San Mateo to capture the CIF Open Division State Championship. In addition to these accomplishments, our Braves were eventually crowned National Champions by virtually every national ranking service in the country.

2019 CIF, State, and National Champions

The 2019 season brought great success to Brave Nation. Behind the leadership of the #1 prep quarterback in the nation, the Braves took on a daunting preseason challenge and beat national powers De Matha, Good Counsel and Don Bosco Prep and entered the Trinity League with a solid 5-0 record. The Braves made their record setting 7th straight appearance to the CIF-SS Open Division Finals, defeating rival Mater Dei in dramatic fashion, coming back from a 28-5 deficit, to earn the CIF Championship.  Following the defeat of De La Salle to earn the California State Championship title, the Bosco Braves were named undisputed National Champions.

2016 CIF and State Champions

2016 was another successful season for the Braves.  A CIF Southern Section Championship over local power Mater Dei preceded another State Title in which the Braves defeated De La Salle 56-33.

2013 CIF, State, and National Champions

In the final hours of a grueling 16-game season, with everything from an unbeaten season to a state title and even a possible national championship at stake, the 2013 St. John Bosco Braves had to dig deeper than it had all season. What emerged was a dynamic all-around performance that showed off just what a deep and talented team the Braves were in 2013. The Braves’ 20-14 victory over perennial power De La Salle of Concord late Saturday at StubHub Center gave them a 16-0 record (the best-ever in state history), the first Open Division California State Championship title in their history and a #1 national ranking by Max Preps, USA Today and Cal Preps.
