Basketball

2023-2024 Division 1 State Champions; 2022-2023 Open Division Finalists; 2020-2021 Regional Champions

St. John Bosco High School has a long tradition of building athletic legacies.

The 2023-24 Bosco Basketball Team added another storied chapter to the great tradition of Braves Basketball.  The most recent edition won the third State Championship in school history with a 78-62 win over San Ramon Valley.  The State Championship win followed an incredible Southern California Finals win against Mater Dei, a 71-68 overtime win in front of one of the greatest crowds in Thunderdome history.

The Braves were led by seniors Jack Turner (a Loyola-Chicago signee) and Amiri Meadows who culminated an incredible four-year Bosco career.  The seniors were aided by junior Elzie Harrington, who continues to establish his legacy here at Bosco with another 1st Team All-League, All-CIF and All-State season, and sophomore Brandon McCoy Jr. who became the first basketball player in Bosco history to win a National Class of the Year award, winning the 2023-24 National Sophomore of the Year award.

Our seniors will move on to the college level, where they will join 18 former Braves playing college basketball, including Lamaj Lewis (Loyola Marymount), Scotty Washington (Cal State Northridge), Delyle Williams (Jackson State), Xinyi Li (Manhatten),  Mateo Duran (Drew University), DJ Henry (Cal Maritime), Marko Kenz (Northwestern College), Christian Estrada (Biola) and Josh Adoh (Cal State LA).
