St. John Bosco wrestling has a rich tradition of excellence and is one of Bosco’s premier sports. We offer some of the best training around and continually seek out the best competition. We push the envelope in the wrestling world and are committed to constant improvement. We have produced numerous CIF, State and Nationals champions; and our wrestlers go on to compete at some of the best universities across the Nation. It is our dedication to developing champions, as well as men of character that truly separate St. John Bosco wrestling from every other program out there.

Bosco Wrestling advances to the CIF D1 Duals Wrestling Championships! Reconnect with Bosco and Wrestling Alumni in the Quad from 4:00-6:15 P.M. at our CIF Finals Wrestling Mixer! Join us for music, a Bosco Wrestling pop-up store (limited sizes available) cocktails and hors d'oeuvres. Head to the gym at 6:30 P.M. for a pre-match performance by SJ Cheer and Wrestler Intros!

Coaching Staff

Head Coach, Jeff Anderson '98

Jeffrey Anderson (Head Coach; 15th year): Jeffrey graduated from St. John Bosco High School in 1998. He was a three-time CIF place winner and two-time State Qualifier. He was the first Bosco wrestler to make the State Championships since Jim Mendoza in 1973. During his senior year he was CIF Champion & Masters Champion. Jeffrey continued his wrestling career at Columbia University where he graduated with a degree in Economics in 2002. After college, he worked on Wall Street as an Investment Banker and Bond Trader. He currently owns and operates a general contracting company. He married the love of his life, Kylie, in 2017. He has twin daughters, Sophia and Charlotte, and a son and future Brave, Jeffrey Jr. He is grateful for the opportunity to give back at St. John Bosco and the community through wrestling.

Ruben Valencia (Head Assistant Coach - Varsity; 11th year)

Ruben has been instrumental in developing Bosco into a State and National powerhouse over the years. Previously, he had gained national recognition with his Monster Garage wrestling club. He burst onto the Bosco scene when his sons Zahid & Anthony won State Championships as freshmen. He has trained some of the best ever at Bosco, and has produced multiple State and National Champions for the Braves. His commitment to be the best has set the standard for our success.

Jenaro Santillan '05 (Head Assistant Coach – Junior Varsity & Frosh/Soph; 15th year)

Jenaro competed for St. John Bosco and graduated in 2005. He was an All-CIF wrestler for the Braves. He has been coaching for 15 years and has been an incredibly important asset for the team. His commitment to the program and dedication to our boys is unsurpassed. He is a Bosco Wrestler through and through. He currently runs a printing and graphics company, PrintingSan.
